The Role of An Coimisinéir Teanga
An Coimisinéir Teanga is appointed by the President of Ireland on the advice of the government following a resolution passed by the Houses of the Oireachtas recommending the appointment.
The Official Languages (Amendment) Bill 2019 was enacted on 22 December 2021. A copy of the new Act is available here.
